Re: Break a wish!
Of course that statement is false. You really wish that Mojang would rewrite the server code to be truly multi-threaded and take advantage of modern processors.
I wish more people would come back to work on IC so we could finish digging it out.

Re: The Building Of the Imperial City: Now with moar work!
Roughly what % of clearing up is left? Only the SE corner upper layers (4-9) remain. Based on the number of caves & old mining drifts I've found, I'm guessing it's about 50% air. Once that is cleared, I believe there are also some steps that need to be cut in the border, and then it's time to crack...

Lately, I play MineCraft. Before I got hooked on MC, I had the following hobbies: -Woodworking, with an emphasis on turning. -Ultramarathon bicycle riding. Re: Theories about Lord_Mountbatten's survival
Quite simple, really. The relaxed mood on the yacht had him halfway to an out-of-body state, and the blast did the rest to separate his consciousness from what was now an empty husk. Free to roam, he found a new home in the spare cycles of the Internet. Given his current sense of humor, I suspect he...

Re: What are your thoughts about capital punishment.
I believe there are cases where Capital punishment is both justified and necessary. I also know that as it is currently practiced in the USA, it has completely lost its effectiveness. With all due respect, SMWasder, the purpose is not "an eye for an eye", or retribution of any sort. The purpose of a...

I suspect the result will be a bit one-sided, as those who can't get it together enough to be happy here won't stick around on the forums, either. Still, it's nice to confirm what we already knew

Re: The Building Of the Imperial City: Now with moar work!
Quick note regarding efficient use of tnt: Now that the max depth a pick can reach is 5 blocks, we can remove more cobble per blast than before. Dig 5 deep, place the tnt 3 blocks back, and detonate. This will clear a 3x3x6 volume with minimal cleanup required.

I would add that in my opinion, within this context the topmost platform serves no purpose once it is cleared. Removing it as we proceed allows the recycling of torches (So many torches....) as well as daylight clearance of mobs.

Re: We have another video up on The Escapist
I thought the video was rather good, and the narration really enhanced the action. Commenters Trolls who whine about people's accents (or lack thereof, I quite enjoy Lord's mellifluous tones) need to get a life/grow up.
