Well, I was reading General discussion this morning and saw this post.

And since I'm not sure how many players have read the thread or had time to comment, I was wondering if I could get some more discussion going about this.

Are you interested in a wipe, such as rygy proposes? He thinks it would get a lot of folks interested in playing here again.

And since I'm very interested in that, I'd like to hear what you think....

If we did do it, we would have to have a major ad campaign to show people we were resetting and to invite all of their friends.

hype up the reset date and all.

It also would not hurt to have a set of nifty new plugins to attract people as well.

Im not sure, I'd be pissed as hell if my twisted tower got wiped, on the other hand i can build all new things with returning friends, on a grander scale. Also culling the multiple survival worlds we have now would create less lag too right? Also the wipe would let us reconfigure the plugins and throw out the ones slowing down updates.
Also what aspects of the server would be wiped? What about things like Creative, Enigma, the HUB and IC?

I obviously agree with this. I for one would definitely come back if there was a wipe, to see the world grow again. And once it's updated, as I updated.

I think it's about time for a wipe.

Prepare the arc, two of every animal inside.
You can always find more materials in another world, the fun of the game is that even if you wipe there will be new joy found in building anew.
Let us gather and watch as this world ends and the new world begins....
Perhaps we can find a world not controlled by CUT just kidding, just kidding...

Perhaps, a new survival world is needed, one in which you have to start from scratch with, one that any materials you get from it you can only use in it.

I would feel very very sad if we wiped, all of those great things people have built for years and enjoyed for years... me for one I have not completed my boat, but I dont think I ever will. If wiping would bring back the community I say yes... but I also request the map being downloadable to all who have a membership on this site who would like to keep all those other memories. :')

I also think that at least a lot of the people who play on here should voice their opinion before this goes into effect, if it does go into effect at all.

If we were to do any wipe, we will definitely make sure that maps are available for download for players.

Also, there is the possibility for some builds to be copied to the Creative world.

And, you should all be aware that I am considering this wipe idea very seriously. It seems like a decent solution to some of our issues.

Of course, it will be discussed more with wokka, staff, and players who've got stuff on the server.

I will return to activity some day(I probably would have visited ole EC this weekend had my compy not died in spectacular fashion), and when I do I want to be able to build an even grander castle in the middle of a city!

I find I rarely see any... Ever. The world's are big and community is getting smaller. It can feel like a ghost town however I think smalle/limited maps would stop the whole wasteland feel.

Also, many player including myself feel as though they have "won". Got to the point where nothing is of.concern due.to excessive resources. However, those who feel as though this is making them feel.as though they are losing interest I beg the question "why not nuke your chests, intv, items, homes etc. and start a new? Or leave everything behind. Ask a mod to lock your chests and doors and go for a holiday elsewhere to start again?".

There have been times where I have.considered throwing all my gems and rares into the public, just for shits and giggles. Hell I still may do so, organise a mini event so new players get a hold of my goods (not my penis).

Tldr; I don't think a wipe is super nessassry. It's like hurling a nuke in a snowball fight. Awesome, but... Really? I think to gather interest, update servers quicker.if possible

I agree. make the current world downloadable so that we can keep them...but I agree with the wipe. I didn't at first until we got the temp server up and released that I was having fun again!! and it puts everyone back on square one where we are working together way more on building, sharing, trading...exploring.
Wisky and I had a great adventure transporting a villager in a minecart across the dessert and defending him by zombies by night.
So, yes,....again, I say WIPE....but let us be able to download the maps

now im not saying no to this but what are we wiping cuz i want fyra to stay please O_O

If it were a complete, 100% wipe, I think I would come back too. Or at least I would attempt to. I had a blast on the temp server, but I just can't enjoy myself when I'm on the main server.
