Hey there!

If you are reading this brochure thread, you are either bored out of your abseloute mind, or are interested in more information on Cliff's Edge, the newest town brought to you by InvunIndustries (and that vallorn guy) located in the southeast region of Tolteca. While construction is admittedly in it's infancy stages at the moment, it is still nonetheless faring at a quick rate. At the moment, the town is currently not open to residents, as town amenities and residential areas are still being set up. The town is currently open for residential access!

Current tasks to be finished:
  • Testificate breeder/town hall
  • Automatic public farms
  • Underground district & plots
  • Invun's mansion
  • Embassy Plots
  • Directional signposts leading to town locations
  • Public mineshaft
  • Public enchanting room/library
  • Other various aesthetic buildings
Got questions? See if they have been answered already below:

How do I get to Cliff's Edge?

Head over to the Southeast Tolteca Dragon Travel hub from the Tolteca spawn pyramid. Once there, look for the nearby iconic "InvunIndustries People Mover" found just outside the SE Dragon Travel hub. NOTE: Minecarts are probably going to be needed, it is recommended you use /kit minecart or bring a personal supply of carts before entering the people mover.

Should you run out of minecarts or just decide to be a total derp, then you can also follow the nearby road which leads directly into the East entrance of the city.

Once you enter either the East or South entrance, there is a resident board and a board of laws available at your convenience right at the entrance.

What are current town laws?
  • Do not damage ANY property that is not yours.
  • Do not prove to be a hindrance (Yes, I realize I typo'd this in the picture) to other town members.
  • Invunarble and vallorn reserve the right to make final decisions in town policies.
  • No asking stupid shit to Invun such as "Do you even lift?".
  • Do not make ANY structures out of solely disgusting materials such as cobblestone or dirt.
  • Use at least 2-3 different building materials in your residency.
  • Do not kill any nature or livestock on town property.
  • Replant any materials you take from public farms.
  • Should you break any of these rules, Cliff's Edge authorities (vallorn and Invunarble) reserve the right to evict you from your house after 2-7 days since the eviction order was placed. All belongings left will be cleared if not already removed by then.
What plot types do you have available?

Four different variants -
  • Commons - Regular type of residency plot, often found in rowed sections near roads, 9x9 in all locations. Currently 20 available for public claiming FREE!, may increase depending on popularity.
  • Executive - Luxurious form of residency plot, found in various "hot spot" locations throughout Cliff's Edge (which most have excellent views of the lake below), dimensions vary from 12x12 to 15x20, costs 1db per plot (with the exceptions of Plots #5 and #7, which cost 2db and 4 diamonds respectively due to their abnormal sizes). Currently 10 available, future plots will not be made once all are taken.
  • Embassy - Non-residency plot used for foreign town owners to create embassies to represent their respective towns in, 15x15 with a 20 block deep and 30 block high height limit, available to both residents and non-residents. 4 available currently for usage, may increase depending on popularity.
  • Art - Non-residency plot used for artistic displays, *slightly* plagiarised from Lord's Landing's art park, 3x3 in dimensions. 12 plots currently available, may increase depending on popularity.
How do I get a plot?

Contact either myself or vallorn ingame once you see us, if you are interested in having a Executive plot, you are also required to provide payment.

What the hell is that satellite thing orbiting the lake?

No worries, that's just the InvunIndustries Orbital Long Range Heavy TNT Cannon, MKI. Rest assured, it isn't loaded and is not set to fire unless you put it above Branchscape.
2013-01-14_15.01.21.png
Can I use the public farms and/or claim an art park plot?

Once you become a resident, go ahead.

Do you even lift?

If you dare to ask this question, I will find your house and make it evaporate.

Who are the current residents within the town?
  • Invunarble
  • vallorn
  • aeroeng15
  • asi1998
  • Demonnaruto21
  • runNgun41
  • Tehbeard (kindaishsomewhat)
  • Sti_Jo_Lew
  • shaunpat99
  • ShadowCreator
  • TessieWessie
  • xxsneakylizardxx
  • Hytro
  • aaddyy12
  • NickAdams0205
  • Data17
  • TEKNOVIRUS
Any further questions can be directed to Invunarble or vallorn ingame. Thanks for reading this brochure thread, and have a pleasant day.

Do you even drop? *trollface*
Will it be possible to only claim an art plot in the future, as a posed to needing residency first?

I guess it depends on how much demand we end up getting for art parks. At the minute, there's only a whopping total of 12 available. If I allowed anyone to claim art plots, they really don't qualify as residents, and too many people may end up just taking up plots and not using them/building shitty cobblestone phallus-shaped objects.

So, this is probably something that may change in the future, but for now, only residents are able to build in the art park.

(Quietly laughs at the fact all of your personal claim cuboids were removed, and a proper city cuboid was placed with BOTH OF US AS OWNERS )

Update!

As of now, all plots within the town (minus the underground district, I will leave that up to vall to sort out) have been set up, to make a grand total of 46 separate child cuboids that took a fuckton of time to create. Amongst these 46 cuboids are:
  • 20 Commons plots, which are 9x9 residency plots that are available for free with a 20 block deep-30 block tall height limit.
  • 10 Executive plots, which are 12x12-15x20 residency plots available at a fee of 1db (with the exception of plot #5 and #7, which are 2db and 4 diamonds respectively) that are 30 blocks deep and 40 blocks tall.
  • 4 Embassy plots, which are a row of 15x15 non-residency plots available to foreign town owners who wish to build an embassy to represent their town. More may possibly be constructed in the future should demand for these plots increase.
  • 12 Art Park plots, which are 3x3 non-residency plots available to current residents for displaying small, artistic innovations within a area specifically devoted to creative display.
On that note, I also wanted to say thanks to Tjololo12, haxxorzd00d, and TyreseEngineer for setting up separate portions of the numerous child cuboids within the town, specifically Tjololo who was forced to suffer under the wrath of my super evil lazer cloaking sheep of doom do additional work on each plot after I requested for certain dimensions to be changed once the cuboids had been finished.

A bit of the insanity that ensured from my super evil lazer cloaking sheep of doom additional requests:

With regards to the underground district. I must ask residents not to dig below Level 20 since that will be the underground districts level ceiling.

also if you hear a massive explosion from underground... you know im working.

For future reference, here is a full map of the landclaim. Since the map plugin doesn't work, I managed to just save a screenshot of the full claim using Rei's minimap extended map view. So, without further ado,

Update!

Ever get tired of repeating the same, gloomy, dull process of planting and harvesting wheat over and over again, only to reap minuscule amounts? Well, fear no further! Cliff's Edge's Automatic Wheat-a-tron Harvester 5000 is now available for usage! All that is required of you is to plant seeds/carrots/potatos in the farm, and over time, a large volume of product is available for you to harvest at the press of a lever! Literally!

The wheat farm will be available for public usage once the town opens. Just head over to the northeast corner of the town landclaim, and you should find the distinct building there.

SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT NEWS!

Guess what, all of you mindlessly hypnotized mass of followers? Cliff's Edge is now officially open! While the town still has to receive ALOT of improvement, we are now willing to accept residents! (see directions in the OP to get to the town)

With that said, two other new amenities have been added: a super space-efficent 10 layer compact melon/pumpkin farm, and a reed farm still partially in construction that will soon rival MrWhales' exclusive monopoly on the market. No longer do you have to go through the dull, boring process of smashing endless melons and reeds, as these new innovative pieces of technology do all the harvesting for you at the press of a button! Literally!

Oh, it also appears the art park has been receiving a recent influx in popularity! Claim your plot today before they run out!

(Another note: The OP's "resident list" will now be properly updated as new members join the town).

This town officially gets an endorsement from asi1998. Plots all have good sizes, the place is good looking, and it has the best autofarms.

Smaller-than-usual-update!

Quick heads-up, the Cliff's Edge reed farm has been temporarily delayed due to my new incredibly time-consuming role as King of the mentors. Although the actual redstone mechanics are all built, reeds and a proper covering for the farm still need to be created. Rest assured, it'll be finished soon, but not as soon as I had hoped for.

Another thing: There is approximately 5 executive plots left! They are filling fast, come grab yours before the opportunity vanishes!

Slightly minor update!

As it stands, work on Cliff's Edge has sort of come to a standstill. A tsunami of new tasks has engulfed me lately, and I really haven't been able to devote much time into adding new features to Cliff's Edge. This (hopefully) doesn't mean that I've lost interest in working on the town, but I've stopped working on the town for the time being until I can clear up my insanely large to-do list.

There's good news to this, though. The reed farm is now fully constructed and open for residential use! Despite the fact I had to re-wire the redstone circuitry on top due to the fact it would consistently mess up my pistons, the farm is now fully functional and *probably* won't make the entire city explode when used. Now, everyone who lives at Cliff's Edge can triumph over MrWhales' monopoly on the reed market!
