It's been proven to be less dangerous than alcohol or smoking, so I don't see any reason for it to be banned. Plus, having it be legal would likely cut down on the cartel issue in Mexico.
Just wanted to note, I've never smoked marijuana or done any drugs, so everything I'm saying might not matter since I have no experience with it.
The goal, for anyone in favor of Marijuana legalization, is very simple and straight forward:
"Legalize and Regulate Marijuana in a Manner Similar to Alcohol."
As for the Cartels, I believe that like any scum of the earth they will always be here, and find a way to make money out of something. If legalization can help cut one of their branches, thus cutting some of their cash flow, I'm all for it. But, I think their violence will always be here, as long as men are greedy.
