Well, we fought bravely in chat but the rules stated we could not discuss politics in chat - and so, we were defeated. Now the last free peoples of the internet rally behind a banner of freedom, and bravely charge into the discussion of there SOPA/PIPA Opinions and why.

If you see this being discussed in chat, it would be appreciated if you endeavoured to make sure that the participants knew not to and that they could go to this part of the forums to do so.

I hate this ridiculous sopa thing with a passion. Why is it that people that have seemingly never used the internet get to write up these ridiculous acts. If you'd only been using the internet for a day you'd no better than to let this go through. I feel ashamed to share a birthday with the man that started it. Hopefully anon will absolutely destroy them!
Hell i'll even get LOIC just to help them!

Well they managed to take down the site megaupload without the need for sopa so all sopa is doing is cracking down on something benign. It's in a way like a school stopping people from skipping class by posting sniper's around the area

A friend said its a war between anyone that uses the internet for fun and a boring, ludicrous government act. The fact that there's more in the former should hopefully make them see the light

Surprised? They did this with the last similar bill, although that time at least a Democrat actually proposed it rather than this time, where you've got a Republican, Lamar Smith (this same guy's proposed legislation - The Protecting Children from Internet Pornographers Act of 2011 - that would allow monitoring of all systems. As the bill is ostensibly against child pornography opposing it makes people look bad, so it's a clever method of concealment. I find it amusing the internet nerds don't care about this bill one bit as opposed to SOPA).

ACTA is worse since its an international agreement between. you guessed it. the leaders of several 1st world countries and the EU where. again no points for guessing. they are attempting to sneak it in the back door all hush hush without their citizens noticing.
