Music album covers - homemade!

Post by makkaal » 24 May 2011, 05:31

Here's a fun little thing to do when (your connection to) the server derped, which I got from 4chan. All you need is a connection and GIMP or Photoshop!

1. Go to wikipedia.org, click on "Random Article". The title of that article is your band name.
2. Go to wikiquote.org, click on "Random Quote". Use the last 3-5 words of the first quote offered to you. This will be your album title.
3. Go to flicker.com, above, click "Explore", then on the right, "Interesting photos from the last 7 days". The fifth (2nd one in 2nd row) will be your album cover.
4. Photoshop.
5. ????
6. PROFIT!

Lastly, but optional:
Include a short summary of what you believe this band to be like, such as music style, motivation and general gist of the album's songwriting.

Alright! So let's get going, here's mine!

"Columbia Heat" is a Florida-based band playing very vocals-driven punk-rock with stoner rock elements, formed in 2002. Obvious sources of inspiration are Bad Religion and New Model Army. As with Bad Religion, their lyrics address current political events, generally from a liberal stance, sometimes with almost socialist tendencies. This album was celebrated as a musically/textually very coherent piece, consisting of personal stories and tirades about and around proliferation of weapons, inspired by last year's events around Iran's nuclear projects.

Pity, I'd love to see some more of this. Well, you could always hit F5 if it really didn't work out... ^_^

The image is too big, so have a link to the cover of Create It - That Is Art by Podilymbus
I only feel the way that I'm programed, and most of the time that's not to give a damn.
