Car = dead = battery problemos

Post by nart_21086 » 19 Jun 2011, 19:20

Anyone have any free advice to offer? The car is 11 years old, has been through hell and back, and it seems that the battery does not charge whilst the engine is running anymore. Tis a 2000 Toyota Sienna XLE. Mind you, the battery was purchased and installed only 4 months ago.

I forgot the word for it, but it sounds like the thing that charges the batt is dead or not working .

A car that old thats been flogged, i doubt the batt. Look up commen faults for the model or take it to a friend who is a car nut or perhaps a trusted mechanic who can do a free quote.

Either the alternator isn't working or the battery is stone cold dead. Take the battery to the shop and have it tested (if you don't have a trickle charger at home).

It sounds like an alternator issue to me, and probably one that requires it to be replaced.
