I have recently been reading the GoT series of books by George R.R. Martin. It is called A Song of Ice and Fire. I really enjoy this series because what the characters do is very unpredictable and who dies is completely unexpected!
In the novel, presenting various points of view and plot-lines, Martin introduces the noble houses of Westeros, the Wall, and the Targaryen plot-line. There are 9 great houses in the main place called the seven kingdoms/westeros called the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, Tyrell, Stark, Arryn of the Eyrie, Greyjoy, Martell, Targaryen, Tully and Baratheon of Storm's End. There is a main throne made from swords called the Iron Throne where the King of Westeros sits and it causes much heresy, murders and WAR!
In the books the game of thrones is a dangerous game where you are either a player or a piece, you win or you die!
There is a game already for this called Game of Thrones: Genesis and an upcoming F2P MMO following the HBO series of Game of Thrones which there is a second series coming out in April
