A question about my upcoming forum game

As you can tell from the title, I have a question about a forum game that I am going to release soon. So my game is going to be one of those written adventures where people make a character and what-not, and it will be taking place in the starmade galaxy. I wanted to know if people would rather take roles of crew members on the ships, or if people wanted to each have their own ship and crews. So if you could, please post which one you like better.
