Ok, so I drew batman with my eyes closed.

Not too bad if I say so myself.

Also, while I'm completely rubbish at this whole drawing thing all the cool kids are doing, I am quite good at copying the work of others.

The first painting I've attempted in ~2 years that wasn't a speedpainting (ie done in one sitting, usually 1-2 hours). This took me around 8 hours over 3 sittings, hopefully it was worth it.

Yay the irony

The whole reason I'm on the site is just that, to design stuff for world 4. I guess I never did introduce myself properly though...

Here's some of the design work I've done recently for college. We're building a game environment in small teams.

Just thought I'd share

(Maximum of 3 uploads. These are some of my favourites, but i have more if people want to see them)

I'm hoping that's a typo, and not the real name of someone else in this thread, otherwise this is going to seem very rude and egotistical:
Thank you very much.
Hytro wrote: So, what are you studying to become? If you do not mind me asking :P
I'm currently in my first year studying Digital film, games, and animation at university. Assuming all goes well I'm hoping to specialize in concept art/design. Broad course I know, but hey it'll make for great padding on my otherwise lackluster CV, and knowing basic vfx, modelling, and animation skills has gotta be helpful at some point... right? :? Either way I'm looking at entering a very competitive industry, with a mountain of debt to pay off, and almost nothing to fall back on.

Wow that turned into a rant about my questionable choice of career paths awful fast...

As a child of the 90's I have to agree: Pokemon is awesome. MS paint is not however. Try GIMP, it's free and a lot more versatile, it will make your pokemon drawings at least 20% cooler.

I find that the best way to deal with anything of that sort is to be self-confident. This does not mean be arrogant like those people you see on The Apprentice - you actually need to be competent, so you can back up such self-confidence, and whilst I am not one for compliments (lots of "c" words today), I have to say that what you do is incredibly impressive.

In short, have a healthy respect for obstacles and shortcomings, but overall, consistently believe that you are damn good.

Thanks. I just worry sometimes, for every compliment I've had regarding my work I've had at least one person point out how difficult it is to make a living out of this stuff. Personally I blame the internet, it's never been faster or easier to find people who are better than you.

Anyway here's a bunch more drawings to compensate for all my fretting about career prospects:
