Your Top Three Composers!

Post by Jakeman214 » 17 Nov 2011, 08:03

As the title says, list your three favourite composers and favourite song/why!

Mine are:
1 John Williams - Star Wars Main Score. Enough said, this man is pure genius. His list of awesome music is immense. Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jaws, Jurrasic Park, Harry Potter and much much more.
2 Jeremy Soule - Risk Relief and Victory, Supreme Commander Soundtrack. Seriously, this guy is like the king of Video Game scores. Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, Morrowind, and so many others. Go look him up.
3 Marty O'Donnell - Halo Theme. This dude created one of the most recognised pieces of music in video games. AND THEN PROCEEDED TO ONE UP HIMSELF EVERY NEW HALO. My second favourite piece of his is called In Amber Clad.

So Escapians, what are your favourite three composers?

1. Something pretentious.
2. Something I was told I'm supposed to enjoy because it's classical.
3. A third thing.

I had a massive post on why I liked Tim Follin and Graeme Norgate, but I accidentally closed the window.

So they are my first two.

Of course, my third favourite composer is whoever created the instrumental for this.

UndeadJesus, I'll give you Daft Punk as they actually composed the Tron: Legacy soundtrack. And even though Deadmau5 is awesome, both he and Skrillex are in the techno songwriting business as such, they haven't written composition works.

So no, your 2 and 3 don't count.

Keep it up guys, this is interesting and funny to see all your responses both for those being all srs business and those being all FOR TEH LULZ.
