You guys and your crazy-ass desktops.

You all have such neat desktops, mine is buried under a load of shortcuts.

Doctor Who defeats all. Plus it's sorta organized into games, audio, and extra shit.

Non-genuine microsoft background, what now? I actually do have a legit copy of microsoft for the record, but never fixed this. Dunno what the problem is. Doesn't really affect anything though.. And sneaky, why is your start bar on top? So.. unnatural looking.

It's on top because I found it easier to switch between my design programs and using the menus on them without having to move my mouse to the bottom of the screen.

Really it's a convenience thing and I've stuck with it since University.

I just use the defaults screen usually. Although once I went through all the trouble to use some gorgeous Canadian scenery. So, I suspect your desktop will always beat mine....

Surely best is a matter of opinion :3

Although I will grant that the kitten be dayum cute and I am envious of 2 screens...

The Server hardware monitors are just showing was runs on my pc and how hot it is and how much RAM i'm using. What you call an Email Client is gitk (git history viewer). What you can't identify is Thunderbird, THERE IS NO WINDOWS DESKTOP ON MY LINUX, and the Anime isn't creepy at all.

one monitor with workspaces that i can switch between with 2 keystrokes.

While I do not need 2/3rds of those icons, the mess suits me fine and my desktop would look empty without them.
