Favorite Game?
What's your favorite game? Spice things up with then and now, different genres etc.
My favorite game since I was little, Spyro the Dragon. The game had fun in so many diffrent levels I still play it today.
Today I would say I don't have a favorite game which is kinda sad as a gamer. There's just to much to choose from and there is so long since I had the time to game. I could go with Halo reach.
FPS: Halo/Half life series, I like to battle for humanity.
RPG: Fable series
MMO: WoW
Creative: Gmod or ofc Minecraft.
Raceing: Grand turismo or Need for speed most wanted.
Now, Your turn

Meh I don't have anything worth saying.
Re: Favorite Game?
Super Mario World is my favorite nostalgia game, favorite time killer, and I have never ever even ONCE gotten bored of it. I can play through all 96 exits in about 2 hours and enjoy it every time. I enjoyed it so much, I created a hack of it; Final Fantasy: Super Moogle World.
As for favorite recent games, Fallout, Assassin's Creed and BioShock come to mind.
But basicly just look at a "best of" list for each year in gaming from 1990 to 2010, and those games will probably be my favorites for that year as well.

Re: Favorite Game?
These are both categorised and in order of favouritism. By which I mean, my favourite in each category in order of which I preferred the most. This doesn't mean they would all make the list of my favourite games overall.
RPG: Oblivion. It is, and will probably always be, my favourite game. I could gush about it for ages, but I'm sure you've heard it all before.
Platformer: Ratchet & Clank 3. It was, in my opinion, the pinnacle of an amazing series.
Third-Person Shooter: Star Wars Battlefront. I played this game before I knew what Star Wars was. I'm now a big Star Wars fan, and this is the reason.
Handheld: This section is here purely for Pokémon Silver to get a mention, seeing as it doesn't win RPG or JRPG.
JRPG: Final Fantasy XII. Despite what everyone says, I love this game - it's definitely my favourite Final Fantasy so far.
Sandbox: GTA: San Andreas. I doubt this needs to be explained.
FPS: This is a throw-up between MOH: Frontline and Resistance 2. Both were great games so it's hard to choose.
RTS: I really liked Battle for Middle Earth 2. Though that might just be the Tolkien fanboy in me.
I probably missed some, but what can you do.

Re: Favorite Game?
My favorite game of all time would probably have to be either Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2, or Command and Conquer: Renegade. (I'm a big fan of the series, but the last two they fell short big time.)
For Categories?
FPS :: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (MW2 is good as well, Black Ops is trash)
RPG :: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Great game, endless possibilities)
Third Person Shooter :: Gears of War (The original was nice, sequel was disappointing)
Sandbox :: Garry's Mod
Also, why no RTS?
RTS :: Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2

Re: Favorite Game?
MMO: EVE (I can't play WoW anymore. Everything is so boring and predictable.)
RPG: KotoR (If KotoR2 had been finished, I would have picked it, but a good half a game makes for a shitty full one.)
Strategy: Civ3 (While Civ4 is great, it's mostly because of all the great mods. Civ3 shines on its own.)
- mod: Orbis (for Civ4; they took FFH2, a great mod in it's own right, and made it even better.)
Single PLayer FPS: HL2 (WTB episode 3, PST)
Multiplayer Shooter: TF2 (even though they are slowly ruining it.)
- mod: Desert Combat (for BF1942; No one's played it in years, but it was way more fun than anything since.)
RTS: I suck at RTS, Command and Conquer: Tiberium Sun was pretty fun, though.

Re: Favorite Game?
I'm just going to use DuplicateValue's category thing, because I'm shamelessly good at theft.
Now, whenever I'm asked what my favourite game is, I have to say I have an immense amount of trouble picking just the one. You might've heard me say before that I am not picky when it comes to games - so long as there are redeeming features in the game, I will normally like it, which means you know a game is absolute toss if I dislike it, unless it's sports or racing, because I simply just don't enjoy those genres (take from that what you will).
Since I normally won't have a supreme favourite in any category, I shall list games that happen to be some of my favourites in that specific category.
RPG: KotOR, both (TSL has a very good restoration pack now, just so you know, and they're still working on it), and as far as I've gotten, and if you aren't angry at the FPS'ing and supposed "console-tarding" enough to not let it be called an RPG for some reason, what I've seen so far from my extensive playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas has made me very happy. Also, the Mass Effects. Heh, I see no developer pattern here. Deus Ex too! Dragon Age!
Third-Person Shooter: From Russia with Love ^_^, Assassin's Creeds (all, especially Brotherhood - not shooter, but you get the idea)
Handheld: Pokemon Gold!
JRPG: Earthbound, Mother 3, and I honestly can't remember any other JRPG I've played through.
Sandbox: Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV, oh yeah, I forgot Minecraft.
FPS: Metro 2033, Halo: Reach, would we count Operation Flashpoint here, or as a sim? XIII.
RTS: Medieval II: Total War, enjoying Homeworld so far as I've played, GalCiv II, and also enjoying World in Conflict as far as played.
And more that I've forgotten about for the moment!

Re: Favorite Game?
Copying is fun.
RPG: This is a tough one as RPGs tends to be my favorite genre. In then end I think I would have to go with Baldur's Gate 2 followed by Dragon Age. I really dig the party systems in RPGs and Bioware is unparalleled in that area.
Third-Person Shooter: Metal Gear Solid series. I've played them all except for four, but I was tempted for the longest time to buy a PS3 just for that game.
Handheld: Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening was one of the best Zelda games. It was also my first Game Boy game (yes, the original Game Boy, kids).
JRPG: I'm probably going to get flak for this, but FF7. I loved every bit of it.
Sandbox: Minecraft! Do I really need an explanation?
FPS: Half Life series. You can't compete with Valve in FPS. True story.
RTS: Company of Heroes or Starcraft. I can't decide.

RPG: KOTOR series... defintely.
Third-Person Shooter: Assassin's Creed II
Handheld: Handheld? Well, as I'm an adult and my parents don't need to "Parent by game", I've never played one.
JRPG: JRPGs... Just say NO
Sandbox: Minecraft!
FPS: Battlefield 1942
RTS: Civilization would be the closest. Never really played much RTS

On-topic:
Action: Uncharted
Adventure: Alundra
Puzzle: Professor Layton
Arcade: Tetris/Peggle/Pacman CE
FPS: Bioshock, probably
TPS: GTA San Andreas
JRPG: Suikoden
WRPG: Oblivion
Platform: LittleBigPlanet
Racer: Burnout Paradise
RTS: Age of Empires II
TBS: Fire Emblem
Simulation: The Sims/Rollercoaster Tycoon
Fighter: Smash Bros. Brawl
Music: DDR ^_^
WTF: Katamari Damacy
Sandbox: Minecraft!
Overall: Alundra. The best game you've never played, a rare PS1 classic from the 90's. Think Zelda: Link to the Past with fancier graphics, much harder puzzles (some of the hardest puzzles in gaming, in fact), a decent story and extensive platforming sections. It's a nostalgia trip to me, but it still holds up well today. I believe it's available on the PSN store, or via a PS1 emulator of course.. Just steer clear of the 'sequel', it blows chunks.

Here's my list (which has no order):
Shining Force (an old school sega RPG)
Starwars: Battlefront 2
Farcry: Instincts (farcry 2 sucks)
Need for Speed: Carbon
Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
AQ Worlds ( the stupid humor makes me laugh for some reason...)
Minecraft (duh)
FF 12 (i think its 12. the one with balthier and vaan)
Comic Zone (another old sega game. nostalgia FTW!)
That's about it. I am addicted to Black Ops, but it isn't as good in single player as farcry.
