The Development Greif Thread
The Development Greif Thread
My town is probably one of the most greifed structures on the server I have built a "Development" of some form in each version of escapia, something about the large glass domes and lava seem to make it an irresistible target. This thread will chronicle the damage done to the town and hopefully catch those responsible.
Pre-thread History:
Number of incidents (in 3.0): 16
Amount of glass used to repair to date: ~6 stacks.
Number of people banned for greifing The Dev (based on list, probably more): 6
Normal Damage: (lingthegreat was banned) The Dev has once been called "the largest and most extravagant ban-trap on the server" you will soon see why.

cuboid protection..?
where is it as to attract so many people?
My building is very out of the way as to not draw unnecessary attention (if people knew where it were they'd grief it or 'help' in a bad way)

Get thee to a cuboidery.
Re: The Development Greif Thread
The town is over 15 000 blocks^2.
A cuboid is beyond my means without a mod discount.

That's only 150x100 blocks, yeah? A 128x128 2-diamond cuboid is 16,384 blocks.Hashime wrote:The town is over 15 000 blocks^2.

Re: The Development Greif Thread
I think everyone is forgetting something here...
From the rules about Cuboids - -This will be allowed for 1 structure per purchase, so not whole cities.
Since the Development is a town it can not be cuboided.

Re: The Development Greif Thread
Mm, good point Milo, but if I am remembering correctly, Wokka has stated that cities will eventually be able to be cuboided whole, yes?
Re: The Development Greif Thread
Yes, it is something we are working towards

New kind of "grief", a player has decided to build a "sky-town" above The Development's land. Matter is currently being dealt with by Lord Mountbatten.

Also, talking of Cuboid. It is a town that I am sure Hahsime would like to see people come into and set up shop, so to speak. Not some "permanent"(I know he can edit it, and all that stuff) shrine to Hahsime's Glass dome making skills

In regards to Hahsime's last:
Technically, no landclaim rules are being breached, just as a matter of conduct it's a pretty impolite thing to do. Then again, the creator has never struck me as a particularly supportive member of the community.

So, could I tear that portion down, or will I have to talk to TheGoldenCanadian when he comes off suspension?Lord_Mountbatten wrote:In regards to Hahsime's last:

Well, the suspension ends pretty soon. However, this matter has made me want to settle a few things concerning landclaim.

Re: The Development Greif Thread
Right, we're modifying the 20 blocks away rule to apply only horizontally. However, the property needs to be clearly marked, and underwater walls don't really do that properly.
You're going to want to contact the owners, TheGoldCanadian or Paky123 and discuss this. Tell them we'll be willing to move their settlement somewhere else.

Re: The Development Greif Thread
in another note. apparently Underground buildings are not subject to /landclaim meaning that people can cuboid your underground structure because they own something on the surface.

Re: The Development Greif Thread
No, a cuboid should not go from bedrock to skybox unless the person owns all structures above and below ground level.
If that has happened, it's likely because the mod and owner were unaware of the underground structures.
