Fire arrow is still on cooldown from last turn. I'll just put you down for a regular bow attack instead.

Not for one more turn. Beam is good though if you can get a good position of it.

Still on cooldown, check the first post for details on feats.

Afraid not. Move speed is 3 squares (no diagonals) and rocks slow all characters except the rogue.

You already had your move, you killed an orc and retreated to the rocks  You can fire again next turn (turn 4)

Turn 3 (Ally 2/3)

Movements: Iron_Fang moves back 2 squares and right 2 squares. Standing atop the rocks provides +1 range.

Attacks: Iron_Fang fires an arrow for normal damage.

Feats: Darktaint uses broad swing, dealing normal damage to 2 enemies. Darktaint is now at 10 stamina.

That... confuses me. Beam fires in a straight line, it only really works at right angles. 2 squares right and one up would put you in position to hit anything.

Diagonal is tricky to do with a grid. I guess 45 degrees would be fine, although that changes the range.
Fireball is still on cooldown, sorry :(
Both fireball and Ice Rain will be available next turn.
Until then why not position yourself to be ready, or maybe use heal (although you're starting to run kinda low on mana: 55).

Turn 4 (Enemy)

Movements: The orcs surround Darktaint

Attacks: 3 orcs attack Darktaint together, all dealing normal damage.

Feats: None

This is just a test of one of the battle segments. Depending on the feedback I get I'd like to try and expand it into a full on RPG campaign, with leveling, loot drops, more complex strategy, a branching storyline, an overworld map, bosses and more. I'm not sure what to do about the party size though, too small and things feel kinda hectic plus it excludes people who might want to play, but too large and things slow to a crawl and player'll get bored waiting for their turn.

Turn 4 (Ally 2/3)

Movements: None

Attacks:None

Feats: Iron_Fang uses a fire arrow against the nearest orc. It scores normal damage and ignites the target. The orc survives the arrow wound but dies from the flames. Iron_Fang is now down to 40 stamina.
Vallorn the OP mage uses Ice Rain, damaging 3 orcs and Darktaint. 2 of the orcs are killed. Vallorn is now down to 15 mana. (Attempting to cast spells while out of mana/stamina will result in a desperation feat in which half the cost of the spell wil be taken from the user's hp, the spell also has a chance of failing.)
