Re: New Bucks Official Thread
Firstly, I would say that a kiosk is just as irrelevant as the long grass box thing (and that *is* irrelevant). Secondly, while a gate in front of the Town Hall could look alright, it would need to be connected to a road, and quite apart from getting the number of bricks to connect it to the Tulonville roads (and if they want it), it would also have to go around a load of landclaims set up in the woods. In the end, I don't think that the gate would be worth it.
Also, can we *please* have the town hall finished? You said that you'd do it start to finish.
Edit: In response to you, Rob, not any of the founders that I know, but I shall look into it Probably worth calling a mod to see who placed the signs.

Find the man who did this and slap him in the face. Such stupidity with landclaims needs a beating. *cough*RobipodSupreme wrote:I don't know who it was, but someone put signs in Deephaven saying it was now theirs. Whoever it was, if any of you know, please don't. I just haven't been on in a while.
In other news. I have a sheep called frank.

No, 'cause it has uses, probably more than a 'kiosk'.RiffRaff1 wrote:I have two requests, MrKap. Can I make a kiosk where the pointless long grass growing box is, and can I put a gate where the town hall entrance is in the stone wall because otherwise you have to walk all the way around to the old town?
Thank you,
Riff
No because you only have to walk 50 odd blocks. Or maybe swim under the moat's gate...

Re: New Bucks Official Thread
Thanks. One thing I had thought about doing was a Spleef arena as mentioned a few pages back, probably wouldn't infringe on landclaim, but I thought if we had a big court we could do a Fyra national tournament from different towns.
Re: New Bucks Official Thread
Just to mention, someone completely destroyed derphaven and, as it was in a town and therefore not in breach of landclaim i am annoyed, and will probably file a report for griefing.

Re: New Bucks Official Thread
thanks, guys, I'll get rid of that mob spawner next time I'm on, if I remember. Arun, Derphaven was a dirt cube. If you want the dirt you're welcome to it. but it was fugly, and there were no designated plots for you to build in anyway. This is (in my view) the same as the guy who's built on the NB-Tulonville road.OneHitNoob wrote:Oh yes, I also added people to my cuboid, just in case you wanted to construct something near my house. Please get rid of that mob spawner, It's so damn hard to find sheep. Oh yes, and the national tournament, how about it be held at the crater of St. Piran? That whole crater could be expanded if needed, being the fact that the crater was purely made from Funpowder. (lol, I needed glass real bad at the time). Also, Suachasesdinos, the newest neighbor, is a resident of Circle 9.RobipodSupreme wrote:thanks, guys, I'll get rid of that mob spawner next time I'm on, if I remember. my mob spawner doesn't spawn sheep, it's stone floor, and dark, or was, rather. Do you want to link Circle 9 to my Hall of Trade? Also, I have quite a lot of wool, you can have some.

Re: New Bucks Official Thread
1. Who cares what your name is?
2. then neither do you, and you shouldn't have built there either
3. It was dirt, you know the gritty textured brown one, as opposed to cobblestone, the grey, cobbly one. And I know Deephaven isn't particularly aesthetically pleasing, but neither are quite a few of the buildings in New Bucks, including your guard towers (before they were changed).
i don't want to end up in another long running argument, so please, just leave it alone.

I don't quite often act as mediator for Osiris and Rob's arguments, and when I do I usually tell one or the other to get a grip or admonish said participant for whinging about stupid things/doing stupid things/being an idiot/being short...

It'd be nice if I looked in this thread and didn't see Rob having an argument with someone. I don't care if you're friends. In the forums everything can be seen, so either stick to angry PMs to sort out the arguments, or the local channel in-game.

Lord, use your British accent to sort it out, please!Lord_Mountbatten wrote:It'd be nice if I looked in this thread and didn't see Rob having an argument with someone. I don't care if you're friends. (My British accent is terrible, I'm only good at Russian and that's only graded by how well Tyrese, Osiris and Robipod think it is really...)
OT:
Anyway, jokes aside, can you guys not use this thread since this is failing to discus anything related to New Bucks (as far as I can tell). Derp/Dirt haven is not a part of New Bucks, neither is Deephaven...
Oh, I'm building a house in Tulonville *applause*. This will actully be a good house (I hope) but has anyone got any ideas on what I could use as a design?

House design (Well... any design) is all about trial and error... do what you feel looks good =D (my two cents worth anyways)
My first house I made was a wooden box .-.

Re: New Bucks Official Thread
My first house was in SSP, a cobble rectangle with a moat built into a mountain. It had a sign out front saying, "Bring a knife to a gunfight - stab them while they're laughing" - or maybe it was two signs. There was a huge Netherrack tower that I built next to it (Netherrack was spawned; I was scared shitless of the Nether when I first bought the game), and I'd colonized the entire cave system beneath the home. I was damn proud of that thing, the world got corrupted though.
My next house was a small 9x9 wood/log/cobble/stone patterned box in Corinth, when I first joined the server. I later expanded it into the large cabin that's now for sale there.. it's got hidden rooms and compartments, and an underground connection to some other fun stuff around town.
My point is that you get better as you build. Since then I've built a whole district, and done tons of stuff in Beorn and other towns. Build what you want and continually improve it until you're happy with it. (:

Tulonville is a sister city of Beorn, part of Corinth. New Bucks is a part of Corinth, and a sister city of Beorn and Tulonville. Therefore I'm discussing non important goings on in a sister city/ally to the town I am a founder of.

It doesn't really have anything to do with New Bucks, not if you've had to play "Six Degrees" just to be able to justify it.

Re: New Bucks Official Thread
I've been exploring the 1.8 Temp map looking for clay near the borders. That is all into bricks now, I have 2 and a half stacks. Should we redo the roads in brick? It probably won't be enough to finish all of them, but we could make a start and I'm sure that more clay is out there to be found
Re: New Bucks Official Thread
Despite the efforts of mydrox, furdabip, and myself, there's still a lot of clay left in Terra and Fyra.
I still don't think a lot of people realize how huge Terra is, and that there's still vast amounts of land and resources available (even if it was generated on original Beta code).

Re: New Bucks Official Thread
Fantastic- I don't go into Terra much, but I shall find as much of this clay as possible. The roads of New Buckinghamshire shall be paved with only the finest materials! It will also give a sense of continuity with Beorn/Tulonville, since at the moment the brick stops abruptly.

Lol, ever since the release of 1.8, all I ever did was collect clay. I have a chest full of them. I'm making more plans to gather clay before the temp goes away.TyreseEngineer wrote:I've been exploring the 1.8 Temp map looking for clay near the borders. (I'm fairly sure) that DeepHaven is also part of Corinth. But I will try to stick to PMs, unless a reply is immediately relevant.MrJKapowey wrote:Tulonville is a sister city of Beorn, part of Corinth.
